This is a plain-language draft for the site owner to review with a qualified professional before relying on it. It describes seqrun's behaviour as built; if the site changes, this page should be updated to match.
The short version
seqrun is a static website of calculators that run entirely in your browser. It does not collect personal data, does not use analytics, sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and never sends what you type to a server.
What we collect
Nothing. There are no accounts, sign-ups, contact forms, or newsletters. The values you enter into any calculator are processed on your own device by JavaScript running in your browser and are never transmitted anywhere.
File-based tools
Some tools (for example the FASTQ quality check) let you open a file from your computer. These files are read locally with your browser's file APIs and analysed on your device. Their contents are never uploaded and no network request is made with them — the file never leaves your computer.
Cookies and local storage
The site uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser's localStorage or sessionStorage. As of the last-updated date there is nothing saved on your device by seqrun. If future features (such as a daily puzzle that remembers your progress, or saved preferences) introduce any browser storage, this policy will be updated to describe exactly what is stored and why.
Analytics and third-party scripts
There is no analytics service of any kind — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no tag managers, no tracking pixels. The site loads no third-party scripts, no embedded widgets, and no fonts from a content delivery network (it uses the fonts already installed on your device). In other words, loading a seqrun page does not cause your browser to contact any third party.
Server logs
seqrun is served as static files by a web host. Like virtually every website, that host may automatically record standard technical information in its server logs when your browser requests a page — for example your IP address, browser type, and which page was requested. seqrun does not run any analytics on this information or use it to build a profile of you; it is handled by the hosting provider for normal operation and security. The site owner should confirm their host's data-retention practices and reference them here.
Children
seqrun is a technical tool aimed at researchers and lab scientists. Because it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children.

If the site's behaviour changes, this page will be updated and the last-updated date above revised.
